Professor Rüdiger Görner: „Notes on Turning Points in Anglo-German Cultural Relations“

This lecture will address a number of significant moments in our shared
cultural history, including the Romantic movements in both cultures,
Victorianism and changed mutual perceptions in the wake of the First World
War. The evening will include a presentation of Rüdiger Görner’s studies
„Dover im Harz“ (Winter Verlag, Heidelberg 2012) and „London querstadtein“
(Corso Verlag Hamburg).


Rüdiger Görner, Prof.Dr.phil lectured at the universities Surrey und Aston,
from 1997 Professor of German. From 1999-2004 Director of the Institute of
Germanic Studies at the University of London; since 2004 Professor of
German Literature and Director of the Centre for Anglo-German Cultural
Relations at Queen Mary College, University of London. Currently Fellow at
the Morphomata Kolleg of the university of Cologne.
